Barber Electronics had some great deals today for their B-Stock (blemished stocks) at 50% off. It was so enticing that I ordered myself a Direct Drive … As if I need another drive pedal!

The pedals were selling like pancakes but not all of them got listed at the same time. I would have gotten a Dirty Bomb instead have I known! Oh well, I guess I’ll try to enjoy this magnificent pedal

I almost bought a LTD…. but then realized I’ve got like 3 ‘transparent’ drives right now, an awesome amp, and only really am interested in modulation effects. I passed, but barely.
Let me know how the DD is! I’ve been interested in it for awhile!

i am still in the hunt for a nice ‘rhythm crunch’ to go with the Maz Jr so I’m hoping that this will be the one. will definitely post some thoughts later on.

I picked up a Walrus Audio Voyager for 20% off yesterday. I think it’s kind of Klon-ish with better overdrive sounds. Looking forward to checking that one out.

I was a little tempted after seeing that post on TGP.
Have you tried the Burn Unit/Small Fry?
Dave made me a 4 knob BU when I got the first version of the Direct Drive. I like the voicing of the BU better than the DD and sold the DD a few years ago.

@Dan: I played a Small Fry for about 2 years… was a touch more compressed (with more gain) than my Zendrive. A great pedal. I sold it because it didn’t get enough use and was looking for a pedal with a different sound. Wouldn’t mind adding it back to the “collection” though

I had a Small Fry several years ago. I remember really liking it – not sure why I sold it, though. Maybe it was a little too big? I have been thinking about trying one again.

@Dan – haha … i saw the update the night before and I thought that I wouldn’t be tempted. I almost ordered the Small Fry that night, though. At $75 (SF) & $110 (BU) it was a little steep
From what I hear from youtube vids, I am liking the thickness of the DD so it might be a better for my Tele. we shall see, it shipped this morning!
