Open Season

by Rhoy Pamparo on Apr.09, 2010, under Melodic Insights

This short song is dedicated to a couple of very important people.
First, to my wife, for letting me go way past bedtime to play guitar … thanks!!!
Second, to Wayne, who continues to amaze me with his musical skills and passion to serve Christ.

This is for you guys …

Joy of Spring Solitude

by Rhoy Pamparo on Apr.06, 2010, under 1/2 Minute Clips, Melodic Insights

It has been a great start to spring with this summer-like weather here in Toronto. Spirits are high especially after the Holy Week festivities. And today, I had about half-an-hour “alone” time after work … hehehe

This is using an Open-E Tuning (E-B-E-G#-B-E) that was recorded using QuickTime video capture with an Ipevo USB phone that i use for Skype! Of course, I did some post-processing on Logic Express :)

by Rhoy Pamparo on Apr.05, 2010, under 1/2 Minute Clips, Melodic Insights

This is an A-minor (A-Dorian) progression @ 80bpm in 4/4. It’s a little over 30-secs because of an extra bar to fit the intro/outro.

The Good in Dying

by Rhoy Pamparo on Apr.01, 2010, under Little Poetic

The Good in Dying

There is good in dying
Dying leads to living
The remission of sins
For our soul’s cleansing

But only the blameless
Life lived in holiness
Foretold by the prophets
Died, yet resurrected

Yes, Jesus gave his life
For you and me, despite
By His grace, we abide
Damnation, we defy

Our death is a sure thing
Our hope is only Him
In heaven we will sing
We put our trust in Him

As we remember now
Christ’s suffering and pain
Let’s lift our hands in praise
For His death, is our gain!
