The Night I Met Jesus

by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.30, 2006, under Melodic Insights

I was browsing thru my old files tonight and I stumble upon a song that I wrote almost six years ago. I can vividly remember myself sitting in my bed with my guitar and a Bible on my side. I did not have anyone with me. Just me. But there is no denying what Christ has done for me. And for you. I finally came to the realization that it is time.

You see, I was born and raised a Catholic. I have always feared God but somehow I feel I am missing something. Not until I came to realize how sinful I was. Regardless of what I do, I cannot please God with my own efforts. No matter what, I have always come up short. But the good news is that, I don’t really have to rely on myself anymore. God had provided a way for me. And the real good news, it is also for you.

It is written in John 3:16 that,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Here’s the song that I wrote on the night I met Jesus. I was weeping and laughing at the same time. Call me crazy, all I know is that I am free …

I got Black Now I am blue

by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.24, 2006, under Personal Thoughts

Just got a Blackberry today from work. Normally, people will be happy if they got something from work especially free mobile, internet, sms and email. Not this time for me. I still think that getting a Blackberry is the worst thing that could ever happen to a SysAdmin. Why? Well, you are always connected to work. That’s why! Oh well, what can I do? Not much for now but to put it into good use. That, I did. In fact, I wrote this blog from my “Blue Blackberry”!

I Did it …

by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.23, 2006, under Personal Thoughts

I deleted my “precious collection of illegal mp3s” that I have collected over the year! While I was doing it, my mind suddenly flew into the beginning of mp3 files swapping which some of you might not even know existed long-before the emergence of Napster & Kazaa.

First, there was the newsgroup, that was fun. Then the ever-reliable scour.net that takes approx a day to download a 5mb file, not to mention days to search the song only to find that the seeder suddenly removes the share. But that was fine, because the thrill is to find a song that not a lot of people have. Then came Napster, but that was canned. Then Kazaa, Limewire , BitTorrents, (put your illegal download site here) …

But I know it has to be done. I have put it off far too long … so there it is. The most fun thing is, I didn’t regret doing it!

The song in my head

by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.22, 2006, under Melodic Insights

i just came up with these lines today. might be from experience! harharhar … i don’t think so!

it’s not complete yet, but here it is & for the meantime i will call it:

The Song In My Head

It keeps spinning round in my head
The words a-circling not stopping for me to see
Why is this happenning to me

Like a roller-coaster out of control
My life is slowly decaying to nothing at all
Why is this happenning to me

New Hardware, Same Sound

by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.02, 2006, under Personal Thoughts

At least I feel good!

I recently custom-fitted my Les Paul with new hat-topped speed-knobs & new grover 3+3 tuning machines. Though, it doesn’t add anything to the sound technically, it does add a little bit more passion in my playing. So I guess that’s a good thing for me.

Recently, I’ve been encouraged to practice more and more. The thing that might surpise you is that my wife is the one pushing me to do so. Was I surprised? Not really. You see, she’s being a wife to me. I remember in our wedding vows, we said that we will do all we can to encourage one another and help each other develop what God has given to us. I thank her for that.

I love you, my dear! And I feel so much better saying that …
